Amy Schrempp is the Executive Director of Planning & Innovation at the Minnesota Star Tribune, where she leads strategic alignment, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation initiatives. Working closely with the Publisher and executive leadership, she implemented an OKR framework that connects long-term vision to day-to-day execution — a key part of the Star Tribune’s recent relaunch and transformation success.

Amy is known for designing and facilitating sprints, innovation labs, and leadership workshops that uncover new solutions to complex challenges. Her work has directly contributed to cost savings, subscriber growth, and new revenue opportunities — all while fostering a culture of adaptability, learning, and audience-centered thinking.

With over 15 years of experience spanning media, government, and consulting, Amy has consistently focused on innovation as a tool for advancing strategy, deepening audience engagement, and building more responsive organizations. She’s constantly exploring emerging tools and technologies- including AI, human-centered design, and systems-thinking frameworks- to help teams move faster, think differently, and stay ahead of change.
